Questions

What is the "trust period"?

WAYSCloud AS is in a formal administrative process under Norwegian company law — a procedural step that followed our auditor's resignation in 2025, not an operational or data issue. While that is being resolved, our services continue to run normally. We call this the trust period, and during it Takeout is free for everyone, so you can always hold a current, complete copy of your own data. See the full status clarification in our Trust Center.

I use meil.no — is my email included?

Yes. Your meil.no mailbox, calendar, contacts and files are first-class: mail exports as standard MBOX, calendar as ICS, contacts as vCard — open formats any other provider can import.

Is this free?

Yes — free for all customers during the current trust period. Basic export stays free afterwards.

What is not included?

Secrets we can't safely hand back (passwords, private keys, API secret values) and end-to-end-encrypted chat content — only your own device can export that. Every archive lists exactly what's excluded.

How long is my download available?

7 days by default, via a private, expiring link. Large exports get their own window.

Can I get a fresh copy every day?

Yes — a daily-refreshed export during the trust period.

Can it go straight to my own cloud?

Yes — bring your own S3 destination (advanced).

Is it secure?

Re-authentication is required for every export, archives are encrypted at rest, every action is audit-logged, and you're notified on request, ready, and download.
